Hi Adrian, Its not possible to know how or why until we know what your rash is. These questions and most others can probably be answered if you visit your local sexual health clinic and have a check up (you can find details of your nearest clinic in the UK, elsewhere on this site). I hope that you find out what it is and get the treatment and/or info you need. Rob
