At the end of a long and busy day you process the blood specimens taken from the women you have seen at their ante-natal booking in visit. All of the laboratory request forms are completed with the box ticked to test for HIV. The next day you get a call from the lab to say that one of the specimens tested positive. With horror you remember that this woman had refused the test, needing more time to consider it. Your manager is insisting that the woman is told.
