You have just completed a routine GUM screening for a 14 year old female who attended the GUM department after being advised by the School Nurse. Sexual history has identified that she has a regular boyfriend of 2 months, no other sexual partners over the past year. Initial examination and microscopy have not revealed anything As you are taking the routine blood sample she tells you that her present partner is in the process of getting a divorce from his wife so that they can then become engaged. Upon further inquiry by you it transpires that her partner is 26 years old.
